Important! – The initial upgrade takes 15 minutes. Do NOT attempt to remove the power supply of either primary or secondary Speakers during setup, as this will restart the setup process.
Ethernet
- Connect the primary and secondary Speaker to the power outlet and wait for the Status Indicator to turn solid Green.
Note: If the Status Indicator LED of the primary or secondary Speaker does not turn solid Green, perform a factory reset of that Speaker. - Connect the Ethernet cable to the primary Speaker's LAN port.
The Status Indicator LED of the primary Speaker alternates between Purple-Blue. - Launch the BluOS Controller App on an Android/iOS device connected to the same network as the primary Speaker.
- Select the required primary Speaker's default name* under Needs Setup.
Note: If the Needs Setup window is not displayed, select the Player Drawer > ADD A PLAYER. - When the secondary Speaker is ready for setup (the Status Indicator LED of the secondary Speaker is solid Green), tap Continue
- Select or enter a Name for the Speaker and tap Continue.
Note: Please wait for the primary Speaker to upgrade the software after connecting to the network. Initial setup may take 15 minutes. Do NOT disconnect the power cable. - When the Ready for Pairing screen is displayed**, tap Start Pairing.
The primary Speaker plays a sample sound. - Select the primary Speaker's position (left or right) and tap Continue.
Note: Please wait for the secondary Speaker to upgrade the software. Do NOT disconnect the power supply of either Speaker. - When the Setup Complete screen is displayed, tap Finish.
The Status Indicator LED of both Speakers turns solid Blue.
Wireless
iOS
- Connect the primary and secondary Speaker to the power outlet and wait for the Status Indicator to turn solid Green.
Note: If the Status Indicator LED of the primary or secondary Speaker does not turn solid Green, perform a factory reset of that Speaker. - Launch the BluOS Controller App on an iOS device connected to the network.
- Select the required primary Speaker's default name* under Needs Setup.
Note: If the Needs Setup window is not displayed, select the Player Drawer > ADD A PLAYER. - When the secondary Speaker is ready for setup (the Status Indicator LED of the secondary Speaker is solid Green), tap Continue.
The App discovers the WiFi network – currently connected to the iOS device.
Note: To connect to other WiFi networks, select Show Other Networks… - Enter Speaker Name and tap Next.
Note: Please wait for the primary Speaker to upgrade the software after connecting to the network. Initial setup may take 15 minutes. Do NOT disconnect the power cable. - When the Airplay Setup Complete screen is displayed, tap Done.
- When the Ready for Pairing screen is displayed**, tap Start Pairing.
The primary Speaker plays a sample sound. - Select the primary Speaker's position (left or right) and tap Continue.
Note: Please wait for the secondary Speaker to upgrade the software. Do NOT disconnect the power supply of either Speaker. - When the Setup Complete screen is displayed, tap Finish.
The Status Indicator LED of both Speakers turns solid Blue.
Android
- Connect the primary and secondary Speaker to the power outlet and wait for the Status Indicator to turn solid Green.
Note: If the Status Indicator LED of the primary or secondary Speaker does not turn solid Green, perform a factory reset of that Speaker. - Launch the BluOS Controller App on an Android device connected to the network.
- Select the required primary Speaker's default name* under Needs Setup.
Note: If the Needs Setup window is not displayed, select the Player Drawer > ADD A PLAYER. - When the secondary Speaker is ready for setup (the Status Indicator LED of the secondary Speaker is solid Green), tap Continue.
- Tap Choose WiFi Network and select the required WiFi Network.
Note: If the required WiFi Network does not appear or is hidden, select Manual SSID Entry. Enter the Wireless SSID and select the Protection type the network uses. - Enter the WiFi network Password and tap Continue.
- Select or enter a Name for the Speaker and tap Continue.
Note: Please wait for the primary Speaker to upgrade the software after connecting to the network. Initial setup may take 15 minutes. Do NOT disconnect the power cable. - When the Ready for Pairing screen is displayed**, tap Start Pairing.
The primary Speaker plays a sample sound. - Select the primary Speaker's position (left or right) and tap Continue.
Note: Please wait for the secondary Speaker to upgrade the software. Do NOT disconnect the power supply of either Speaker. - When the Setup Complete screen is displayed, tap Finish.
The Status Indicator LED of both Speakers turns solid Blue.
Notes:
- *Primary Speaker's Hotspot/default name – Speaker's unique network ID and default name. The network ID is listed as the product name followed by the last four digits in the MAC (Machine Access Control) Address (example: ALPHA-IQ-A3C7). The complete 12-digit MAC address is printed on a sticker on the bottom or back panel of the Speaker.
- **If the No Secondary Player Found screen is displayed, select Retry. If the issue persists, perform a factory reset on the secondary Speaker.
- When more than one secondary Speaker is available to pair with the primary Speaker, use the MAC Address to identify the secondary Speaker. Setting up ONE pair of Alpha iQ Speakers at a given time is recommended. Power off other additional secondary Speakers requiring setup.
- If you require to change the primary Speaker's left or right position at a later stage after setup, perform a factory reset of both Speakers and reinitiate the setup process.
